South Carolina’s Junior US Senator Tim Scott delivered the weekly Republican Response to the President’s radio talk this past weekend. Senator Scott took the Obama Administration to task for blocking and delaying new American energy production, which Republicans say would create thousands of jobs and significantly reduce dependency of foreign energy sources. He noted that Republicans support an “all-of-the-above” approach that includes nuclear, wind, solar and other renewables along with oil and gas production. “Opening access to responsible energy production will” Scott said,
“lower prices, create jobs, grow our economy, decrease dangerous dependence on foreign oil and lower the deficit by adding much-needed revenue to the Treasury.”
In addition to creating more domestic jobs, Scott said the “all-the-above” policy would mean more competition and lower prices for consumers.”
Senator Tim Scott said “My republican colleagues and I are working to unleash the power of America’s energy sector – which will create jobs and keep more of your hard-earned money in your own pockets. Unfortunately, President Obama cannot say the same. The President is so out of touch with unemployed Americans that he thinks tens of thousands of Keystone XL construction jobs are a “blip,” and not a jobs plan.”
