Clinton Public Safety Tuesday yesterday served charges on a man in connection with a police chase the previous evening. 22-year-old Joshua Tyrell Cunningham of 157 Wisteria Avenue, Clinton was charged with Failure to stop for a Blue Light. A $10,000 bond was set on that charge.
Officer Josh Byers states in a warrant that Mr. Cunningham drove a motor vehicle Monday and failed to stop after being signaled by a marked police vehicle with emergency lights and siren. Officer Byers alleged that Joshua Tyrell Cunningham had numerous opportunities to pull over, but continued to avoid officers until his pathway of travel was blocked by other police units that responded. The chase reportedly occurred on West Florida, West Pitts and Elizabeth Streets.
Meanwhile, Citations were also issued charging Joshua Cunningham with Littering on East Pitts at North Broad and for allegedly having an Open Container of Beer.
Cunningham was also served with a Bench Warrant from Municipal Court with a sentence of 4 days in jail or payment of $41.47 for a Giving Beer to a Minor charge. He remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
