The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office yesterday charged two Joanna-area women with assisting a fugitive from being arrested around 4:37 Monday afternoon. 43-year-old Emily Black and 26-year-old Amber Gault of 3403 Whitmire Highway, Kinards are charged with Arrest Interference. Deputy Jamison Taylor states they hindered, prevented or obstructed a deputy charged with the execution of a warrant by assisting Laquannis Duley in avoiding arrest by deputies Monday at their residence. A police report yesterday noted that when Deputy Taylor went with Laurens Police Officer Patrick Craven to 3403 Whitmire Highway the women indicated the man they were looking for was not there. He was later reportedly found hiding under a bed at their home and arrested. We reported on Duley’s charges yesterday.
