The lease for the Clinton Public Library expires in two months on August 31st. At last night’s Clinton City Council meeting, City Manager Frank Stovall told Council that a 2 year lease for the current location on Jacobs Highway was signed in 2009 and one year extensions have been negotiated since that lease expired. He said another one year extension for the same lease cost as last year….$19,200, has been negotiated with representatives of the building owner. Stovall asked council to authorize him to sign the lease extension. After discussion, council voted 6-0 with Mayor Bob McLean recusing himself to approve the extension.
