Water service to a part of Clinton’s south side around 6 this morning after City Utility crews worked through the early morning hours repairing a leak under South Broad Street. The south-bound lane was closed to traffic while Clinton utility employees dug thru the pavement and down to the broken waterline. Public Works Director Dale Satterfield explained the break. “We’ve had a joint six-inch cast-iron pipe split longitudinal along the pipe, which is not a good break.”
With water now restored, Public Works has issued a “Boil Water Advisory,” urging residents in the area to boil water for a full minute before using for cooking or drinking. The “Boil Water Advisory” is in effect for the 600 and 700 blocks of South Broad Street, plus Ansel Drive and East Walnut Street.
