Clinton Public Safety officers were dispatched to an apartment at 505 North Broad at 8:32 last night on a report of a fight in progress.
On arrival they were met by a man. Then two women came out onto the porch and sat down. Due to the nature of the call both were placed in investigative detention. Sgt. Kenneth Wayne Prather escorted one of the women to a police car and did a pat down for weapons. In the process he reportedly located a pill bottle on the subject containing a pill identified as acetaminophen and hydrocodone. 50-year-old Brenda Denise Davis of lot 3 at 107 Oakland Street was then placed under arrest and placed in Clinton City Jail. She was being held overnight pending a warrant to charge her with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Meanwhile, while responding to the same call, Officer Christopher Shane Harris found a woman sitting on a porch at 501 North Broad, who had reportedly walked there from the altercation at 505. She was bleeding from a head injury. Officer Harris was told that one person had thrown a brick and the other responded by striking her with a hair brush. The injured woman was to be transported to Hospital by EMS for treatment of her injuries.
