Break-in & Thefts Alleged The Laurens CouBreak-in & Thefts Alleged The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office brought a man to the detention center this morning, to be served warrants charging multiple offenses this past June and July. 23-year-old Charles Robert James III of 92 Milam Road, Clinton was being charged with Forgery, Breaking and Entering, three counts of Petit Larceny. Lt. Bryant Cheek states that on July 19th 2014 Mr. James broke into a vehicle at an address on Mallard Park, Gray Court with intent to steal, that he took away checks valued at $2,000 from that address and that he published a counterfeit check which he knew to be forged. Lt. Ben Blackmon states in warrants that between July 4th and 5th Charles Robert James III took items valued at $2,000 or less. Deputy Taylor states that James took items valued at $2,000 or less on June 1st, 2014.
