The double murder case against a Clinton man for the death of a Clinton woman and a Laurens County Deputy Sheriff is now expected to come to trial this coming February. There had been some indication that 42-year-old Benny Ray Brown Jr. of Barrel Stave Road would enter a plea last Friday, but that did not happen. Brown is charged with Murder for the shooting death of Nicole Kingsboro July 11th outside her place of employment in Fountain Inn. He is also charged with the murder of Deputy Roger D. Rice Jr. who was reportedly trying to keep a crowd away from the Brown house following the fatal shooting of Ms. Kingsborough.
At last report the Solicitor’s Office indicates the case is now slated to come to trial this coming February in Laurens County General Sessions Criminal Court.
