Materials from a discarded meth lab were found in the yard of a Laurens residence yesterday. Laurens Police Officer Michael Polson responded to the 700 block of East Main at 9:32 am after a resident called to report seeing a red and black back pack in his yard, along with a black glove. He said it was in the area where police had chased a subject the night before. Officer Polson observed the bag and determined that it had methamphetamine making equipment and products inside. He moved the book bag a safe distance from the house. Captain Satterfield arrived on scene and called for a SLED Clean-Up crew. The SLED team arrived and identified the back pack as a mobile “Shake-and-Bake Meth Lab.” They disposed of the dangerous materials. Laurens Officer Polson then entered the black glove found along with the meth lab into Laurens Police evidence.
