Trafficking, Firearms, Stolen Goods, Child Neglect

An Upper Laurens County man is facing multiple drug, firearm, theft and child neglect charges following his arrest yesterday. A woman of the same address is also facing the same child neglect charges.

37-year-old Terrance Edward Stewart of 35 Hue Circle, Fountain Inn is accused of four drug offenses, charged with Trafficking in Heroin, Distribution of Heroin, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and with Simple Possession of Marijuana. He’s accused of two firearms violations, charged with Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime and with Possession of a Firearm by a Person Convicted of a Felony. Stewart is charged with three counts of Receiving Stolen Goods and with two counts of Child Neglect.

A Sheriff’s Office release this morning said a search warrant was executed by the Sheriff’s Office and Fountain Inn Police and  while that searching the residence officers seized in excess of 25 grams of Heroin, a quantity of Oxycodone and Marijuana, a .357 Sig handgun, $4000.00 in cash, 2 stolen motorcycles from Lexington County, and a stolen 1997 Chevrolet Corvette from Greenville County.

Investigator Matt Veal states that on January 22nd Terrance Edward Stewart did knowingly possess between 14 and 28 grams of heroin, morphine and/or opium at 35 Hue Circle without authority to do so and that he did distribute a quantity of Heroin to a confidential informant of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office. Veal further alleges that on January 22nd Terrance Stewart possessed oxycodone 5 mg at 35 Hue Circle with the intent to distribute. Stewart is accused of possessing less than 28 grams of marijuana at his residence yesterday.

Officer Veal states that Terrance Edward Stewart did knowingly and willfully possess and display what appeared to be a firearm during the commission of a violent crime of Trafficking in Heroin at 35 Hue Circle yesterday and that he had a handgun and ammunition in his possession which is prohibited for him as a felon convicted of a violent crime.

Investigator Matt Veal also states that on January 22nd Steward received property of victims at his residence, knowing or having reason to believe it was stolen. These included a 1997 Corvette valued at $8,000, a 2011 Suzuki motorcycle valued at $4,000 and a Ducati motorcycle valued at $6,000.

Officer Veal further alleges in two warrants that on January 22nd at 35 Hue Cirlce, Stewart placed at unreasonable risk of harm a minor male child and a minor female child, that he had custody of the minor children and was their parent and/or guardian.

Also from 35 Hue Circle, 25-year-old Tondalai Laferne Coleman was charged yesterday with Conspiracy to Distribute Heroin and with two counts of Child Neglect. Officer Veal states that on January 22nd she conspired with Stewart to distribute Heroin by fraud and misrepresentation at 35 Hue Circle. Two warrants also state that Tondalai Coleman  placed at unreasonable risk of harm or cause to be done any abandonment of a minor male and a minor female child, and that she was the child’s parent or guardian and had custody of the children.

Terrance Edward Stewart and Tondalai Laferne Coleman were held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending bond hearings today.
