All Safe at Local Schools

Some schools in the Laurens-Clinton area had more than the usual number of law enforcement officers on hand this morning due to a threat received in an email. While sent to District 55, it also mentioned one Clinton School. Investigators decided the name used on the email was not the person who sent the message.

Just before 8:30 this morning Sheriff Ricky Chastain confirmed for WLBG News that a young juvenile was in custody, thought to be a Ford School student. No charges were served initially, as local law enforcement and District 55 Schools continued their investigation in the matter.
