Laurens County Deputies responded to the 8900 address range of Highway 76 West of Laurens at 11:32 yesterday on a report that a passerby had observe someone loading items from the residence into a white pickup truck. As they checked the residence they found all was OK there; however, they observed a white pickup at a nearby residence in the same address range. Deputy Jeremy McMahan reported finding a man and woman inside that housse. 40-year-old Dana Rodney Gambrell was allegedly found to have a small baggie containing a substance believed to be meth. He was also allegedly found to have circuit breakers that had been taken from the house. He was arrested, along with the woman who was with him. Officers reportedly found where they had attempted to take a water heater out through a window, but a rotten deck beneath the window of the unoccupied residence was apparently making that difficult.
40-year-old Dana Rodney Gambrell and 37-year-old Melissa Ann Roberts of 21 Quasar Circle, Laurens were both charged with Burglary 2nd Degree. Deputy McMahan states that on February 5th, 2015 Dana Rodney Gambrell and Melissa Ann Roberts entered a dwelling on Highway 76 West, Laurens without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein. Both were being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending a bond hearing this morning.
