Clinton Public Safety Officer Stephen Lawton was performing routine patrol on North Sloan Street at 8:21 last night when he reportedly observed a vehicle where a border around the license plate was covering letters and part of the numbers from stickers on the tag. He made a traffic stop and learned from Dispatch that the driver was wanted by Laurens and Greenwood Counties. The Cross Hill native was turned over to Laurens County, where he was served with court orders issued last summer. 47-year-old Carlton Clay Fuller of 5025 Miller Road, Durham, NC was served with two Bench Warrants from Laurens County General Sessions Court. They cite failure to appear in court July 28th, 2014 to face charges of Reckless Driving and Failure to Stop for Blue Light. Carlton Fuller was ordered held until the charges are disposed of by due course of law. Fuller was also reported to be wanted by Greenwood County for a Family Court Bench Warrant.
