Adam Martin  Several charges were served yesterday on a young man arrested outside Clinton Monday afternoon following a three-county police chase. 24-year-old Adam Richardson Martin of 301 Edgewood Avenue, Clemson has been charged with Malicious Injury, Traffic Hit and Run, Assault and Battery 2nd Degree, Failure to Stop for a Blue Light and Possession of a Weapon During a Violent Crime.

Laurens County Officer Jamie Edwards states that in Laurens County Monday Martin failed to stop for a blue light and siren and struck another vehicle causing the victim significant injuries. One person was airlifted after being struck at a stop-sign at Highway 308. Martin is accused of failing to stop and aid or give assistance to the victim after striking his vehicle. Adam Martin also allegedly committed battery upon another victim by striking his vehicle with his truck, causing injuries to his left side and shoulder and doing over $2,000 damage to that deputies patrol vehicle. Another warrant states that Martin possessed and displayed what appeared to be two pistols during the commission of a crime. Cash or Surety bonds on the Laurens County charges were set yesterday totaling $110,000.

Anderson County warrants charge Martin with Failing to Stop for a Blue Light and with Discharging a handgun at or into a tractor-trailer rig on I-85 near the 25 mile marker earlier in the police charge. He’s also reportedly facing an Armed Robbery charge from Oconee County. Adam Martin remained in the Laurens County Detention Center this morning.
