The Sheriff’s Office arrested a man Friday on allegations of criminal sexual activity over several years. 28-year-old Joshua Alan Payne of 62 Knight Drive, Gray Court was charged with two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor. One warrant states that between July 1st and September 1st in 2011 the defendant engaged in sexual battery by digitally penetrating a minor, the victim being less than eleven years old and the defendant being more than three years older. The second warrant states that between October 1st, 2009 and May 1st, 2011 Joshua Alan Payne engaged in sexual battery by engaging non-consensual sexual intercourse with the victim, being between 11 and 14-years-old and the defendant being more than three years older.
Bond was denied on both charges. Joshua Alan Payne remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
