Clinton Public Safety Officer Watkins reported observing a 15-year-old juvenile sitting on the floor of the main conference room at 1:15 yesterday afternoon. The youth refused to talk with the officer. The youth’s mother went to the conference room and told him to get off the floor so they could go home, but he refused. The Officer and an assistant principal worked to get him up, with him attempting not to be moved. Once pulled outside he resisted getting into his mother’s car, and when put inside would get out. The youth’s grandfather arrived but he refused to comply for him. At this point, Officer Watkins ordered the youth to the ground and to put his hands behind his back. The youth complied with instructions as he was placed in the patrol vehicle and transported to Public Safety Officers. He continued complying with the officer’s commands, and was released to his mother after signing of a juvenile release fund.
