Sheriff’s Lt. Marlon Higgenbotham was patrolling Highway 76 between Hickory Tavern and Princeton when at 4:34 Saturday morning reportedly observed a burgundy pickup that appeared to be broken down and half-way in the highway at or near Boyce Page Road. A check on the license plate indicated it was stolen from a vehicle in Greenville County. A man was secured and given his Maranda rights. A search of the subject reportedly revealed a blue container in his left front pants pocket that contained 6 oval blue pills that he did not have a prescription for. Lt. Higgenbotham arrested 39-year-old Johnathan Drew McKinney of 531 Boyce Page Road, Princeton and issued a ticket charging him with Receiving Stolen Goods. A warrant was served later charging McKinney with Possession of a Controlled Substance. It states he possessed Aprozolam, a Schedule IV Controlled Substance without authority. Johnathan Drew McKinney remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning with cash or surety bonds totaling $6,092.
