One Mountville man is accused of attempting to kill an older Mountville man this weekend. The Sheriff’s Office yesterday arrested 26-year-old Orlando Rodriques Jones of 4543 Mountville Road on a charge of Attempted Murder. Sheriff’s Lt. Scott Franklin states that on November 23rd Orlando R. Jones attempted to murder the victim by beating him in the head with a brick, causing great bodily injury to the victim, Gary Anthony Wallace at 49 Tree drive, Mountville. Deputies dispatched to the scene Saturday night reported finding the victim lying on the floor with his head in a pool of blood. Wallace was airlifted from Mountville to Greenville for treatment of his serious head injuries. A brick was reportedly found in the blood near his head.
Orlando Jones was being held in the Johnson Detention Center this morning, pending arraignment on the Attempted Murder charge.
