PWID charge Follows Traffic Stop

A Laurens man was arrested on drug charges late Friday night after a traffic stop. Sgt. Nick Moye and State Constable Cox were running radar on US 221 at Watts Street when Sgt. Moye allegedly noted a speeding vehicle headed towards Laurens. A traffic stop was made on the Buick sedan at the Lil’ Cricket at 1013 north Harper and the officer reportedly smelled marijuana. Lt. Higgbnbotham joined officers on the scene as they reportedly discovered 47 grams of marijuana and also seized cash from two locations in the car totaling $774. 32-year-old William Tyrrance Sullivan of 311 Mill Street, Laurens was issued tickets by Sgt. Moye at 11:19 Friday night charging him with Driving under Suspension and Failure to Return his License. Warrants served Saturday charged Sullivan with Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute and Possession with Intent within Proximity of a School. Cash or surety bonds were set this weekend totaling $50,889. William Tyrrance Sullivan remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
