Charges Served Yesterday from Police Chase 10 Days Prior

Clinton Public Safety yesterday served charges from a theft and police chase ten days before. The man’s initial arrest was by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. Deputies charged 31-year-old James Morgan Hill of 2814 Harris Springs Road, Cross Hill with Malicious Damage. Deputy Paterson states that on February 14th, 2015 Hill willfully and maliciously did damage of $2,000 or less to personal property of the victim by breaking the door frame when forcing open the door to the victim’s home. A $1,092 cash or surety bond was set on that charge.

Yesterday Clinton Public Safety charged James Morgan Hill in connection with a police chase several miles out of town on Thursday, April 9th. He was served with warrants charging Shoplifting and Failure to Stop for a Blue Light. Hill is accused of taking merchandise valued at $12.89 from the Citgo at the corner of South Broad and West Carolina on April 9th and then will failing to stop when signaled by means of a siren and flashing blue and red lights on Jacobs Highway. He allegedly increased speed and performed erratic driving in an attempt to elude law enforcement. Bonds on the charges from the shoplifting and police chase from Clinton to Mountville Road Extension were set totaling $3,470. James Morgan Hill remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
