As the final weeks of this school year pass quickly, thoughts turn to summer break. The District 55 School Board last night was reminded that there will be plenty of activity in the district’s schools over the summer. Assistant Administrator Tara Dean updated the trustees on all of the programs scheduled for this summer. She said there will be only one week where there will not be students present in at least one of the schools this summer. She said “If someone asks you ‘what do teachers do all summer,’ just tell them that they are still working.” District 55 Superintendent Dr. Billy Strickland added “We are fortunate that there are so many fine programs available to our students and most of them either free or at minimal cost, due to government funding.”
