The Laurens County Library System will begin a week-long annual event next Monday, where library patrons who have fines for late returns have a chance to get those fees waived. Called “Food for Fines,” the annual event gives folks a chance to have a late fee waived in return for a donation of a can of food. The food raised at the Clinton Public Library goes to a food bank in Clinton, while food donated at the Library on West Main in Laurens goes to a Laurens food bank.
The annual holiday “Food for Fines” event begins this coming Monday, December 2nd and runs through local parade day – Saturday, December 7th.
