Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to the North Sloan and West Bluford area at 33 minutes after midnight Sunday morning on a report of a possible fight in progress. A caller noted hearing screaming in the background and one woman reportedly indicated her husband was bleeding from being hit in the head with a stick. Officers spoke with a man who indicated that another man got out of his truck and started waving a stick at everyone in his yard. After Officers cleared the scene, Lt. Jones observed a vehicle matching the description of one that had left before officers arrived. He noted the man was bleeding from his head and had several marks on his legs, arms and hands. He reportedly told the officer he had been invited to the location on Sloan and when he arrived another man began yelling at him. He said the man sucker-punched him in the face, then they began fighting in the street, resulting in the cuts observed on his body. He said he left without realizing officers were arriving. He also said he did not want to charge the man who had assaulted him.
