Laurens City Police yesterday arrested three men in connection with a break-in of a storage building at a construction site in the Hunter Industrial Park Thanksgiving weekend. One of the three is also charged with another theft earlier in November.
47-year-old Sebastian Eugene Porter Sr. and 22-year-old Sebastian Eugene Porter Jr., of 532 Knickerbocker Estates, Fountain Inn along with 33-year-old Bobby Joe Sams of 259 Smith Road, Laurens were charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and with Breaking Into a Storage Building to Steal Fuel.
In warrants served on all three subjects, Detective Tony Lynch states that between November 29th and December 2nd they cut the lock off a storage building at 114 Hunter Industrial Park Road on property of Alupress. The storage building is owned by Jennings Dill Company. The suspects allegedly stole a quantity of tools, oxygen and acetylene tanks, welding rods, brass fittings and approximately 500 pounds of copper tubing in 20-foot lengths. Items were valued at $5,000.
Detective Tony Lynch states that in the same time frame the subjects broke into a storage building at 114 Hunter Industrial Park Road that is owned by Jennings Dill Company and stole 25 gallons of Diesel Fuel which was stored in 5 gallon buckets.
33-year-old Bobby Joe Sams was also charged with another break-in at the same site earlier in November. A second warrant charging Burglary 2nd Degree states that between November 8th and 11th Bobby Joe Sams broke a lock off a storage building at 114 Hunter Industrial Park Road, property of Alupress, the building owned by Jennings Dill, Inc., parked at the location. He allegedly took a quantity of tools, oxygen & Acetylene tanks, welding rods valued at approximately $4,000.
Sebastian Porter Sr. and Jr. and Bobby Joe Sams were being held for other potential charges from Laurens Police and/or the Sheriff’s office.
