Laurens City Police arrested a Clinton man yesterday on allegations he stole a moped from the Wal-Mart parking lot this fall. 42-year-old Billy Joe Roberts of 261 Forest Road, Clinton, also known as “Blade,” was charged with Petit Larceny. Detective Lynch states that Roberts, also known as Joey Roberts, did steal a 2013 Moped from 922 East Main Street, the packing lot at Wal-Mart October 19, 2013. A $1,000 cash or surety bond was set during arraignment. Billy Joe Roberts remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
