Road repairs on Fairview Road in Laurens County between Highway 101 and Greenville County ended a couple of weeks ago. That was the last time the Liberty Asphalt company had observed their $3700 value Solartech Silent Sentinel Directional Traffic Sign. The company called the Sheriff’s Office to 101 at Fairview north of Hickory Tavern yesterday to report it stolen. They realized it had been stolen when the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office told them the sign had been recovered….in the Saluda River near Pelzer. Greenville County confirmed the sign was recovered, but someone had removed the batteries, a solar panel and a control box from the sign.
