Charges from multiple agencies were served following the arrest of a man Friday. It began with Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Paterson was at the end of Evans Drive looking for a missing person around 2:00 Friday morning. He located the woman and she reported she had left of her own accord and was fine. Meanwhile, Clinton Public Safety Officers were called as backup due to the large number of people on the scene and in the car with the woman.

Public Safety Officer Stephen Lawton reported observing a man coming out of the woods who was determined to be wanted for an outstanding warrant by Clinton. Clinton Officers and Deputy Paterson attempted to place the man under arrest, but he reportedly resisted. Use of force was made in order to bring him under arrest. 39-year-old David Leon Reeder of Newberry Arms Apartments, Wilson Road, Newberry was then taken to Clinton Public Safety. He was charged with Destruction of Private Property. A warrant for that charges accuses him of breaking the driver’s side window of a vehicle in Clinton early this summer on June 25th. A $500 personal recognizance bond was set on that charge Friday. Reeder was then transferred to the Johnson Detention Center, where the Sheriff’s Office charged him with Resisting Arrest. That warrant sites a statement under oath by Deputy Steve Paterson that on September 4th Davis Leon Reeder did knowingly and willfully oppose and/or resist arrest by a law enforcement officer. Reeder was also served with a State Probation, Pardon and Parole warrant charging him with Violation of Probation. That warrant gives an address on Evans Drive, Clinton. Cash or surety bonds were set at $50,000 on the Violation of Probation charge and $4,000 on the Resisting Arrest charge. David Leon Reeder remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
