An attempted burglary of a Clinton store was discovered yesterday morning. Clinton Public Safety Officer Beaman was performing property checks when at 5:49 am he observed a glass door on the liquor store side of a business at 730 West Main was broken. He noted that entry had not been obtained. A key holder was contacted and came to the scene. Security video showed a subject wearing a gray hoodie using a blunt object to strike the door. A report noted the person appeared to have been startled by something while striking the door, and fled the scene. It was suspected the break-in attempted occurred at 5:00 am. $300 damage was noted to the door.
