Yesterday was not a good day for 33-year-old Calvin Cunningham. The resident of Unit 55 at 218 Spring Street, Laurens was charged with Public Disorderly Conduct on Spring Street in a ticket issued by Laurens City Officers Nolen and Sellers. Cunningham was then served with a warrant that charges him with Unlawful Use of 911. It states that an investigation by Laurens Police Sgt. James Nolen indicates that on Tuesday, the 15th, Mr. Cunningham called the Laurens County Emergency Communications Center at 911 using profanity and obscenities while speaking with a dispatcher. In at least two calls to 911 from 218 Spring Street he was allegedly unable to advise the dispatcher of what emergency he may have been calling about.
Cash or Surety bonds were set at $5,000 on the Abuse of 911 warrant and $250 on the Public Disorderly ticket.
Meanwhile, Clinton Public Safety served Calvin Cunningham with two Municipal Court orders for commitment to jail that were issued back in January. Bench warrants were served noting that Cunningham was found guilty January 5th for two charges with sentences of $262.50 or 15 days for Trespassing and $107 or 5 days for Public Intoxication. Calvin Cunningham remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
