A man and woman have been charged with participating in a Mob Assault on a person in Laurens early this month. Saturday, Laurens City Police arrested 24-year-old Markemus Charamaine Mims of 8-E 218 Spring Street, Laurens. Sunday, they arrested 22-year-old Fantasia Tequila Mims of 2-D, 800 Spring Street, Laurens. Both were charged with Assault and Battery by a Mob in the 2nd Degree. In warrants served on Mr. and Ms. Mims, Officer James Woody states that an investigation indicates that on December 2nd the defendant along with co-defendants committed the crime of Assault by Mob 2nd Degree by assaulting the victim, causing a superficial laceration to the nose, an abrasion to the left cheek and multiple contusions to the head, forehead, nose, right and left Peri-Orbital areas and right and left cheek area, requiring medical attention.
A $100,000 cash or surety bond was set on the Mob Assault charge during arraignment of Markemus Charamaine Mims this weekend. 22-year-old Fantasia Tequila Mims was also being held in the Johnson Detention Center, pending her bond hearing.
