A man who is suspected of stealing that Coca Cola van from in front of a Laurens Drug Store last week has been arrested in Spartanburg County. Yesterday’s Laurens County Advertiser reported that Deputies from Spartanburg and Laurens County Sheriff’s Offices and Officers from Woodruff Police surrounded a home in Enoree last Friday just after 10:00 am after learning that a person was in the attic of that house. The Advertiser reports that Spartanburg deputies first released a K-9 into the attic, then removed the suspect from a window in the attic.
33-year-old Thomas Ronald Zorrer or Myrtle Beach was reportedly still wearing the same clothing observed two days before when he escaped on foot following a police chase on US 221 north of Laurens on December 16th.
The Advertiser yesterday reported that Zorrer was booked into the Spartanburg County Detention Center and charged with Grand Larceny and Malicious Damage for alleged offenses in Spartanburg County. He is also reportedly facing a charge from Laurens City Police for the Wednesday morning theft of the Coca-Cola van on North Harper, and a Failure to Stop for a Blue Light charge from the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.
