Clinton Public Safety Officer Stephen Lawton was stationary at Westchase Apartments at 9:22 Saturday night he reportedly observed a white Ford Expedition with no tag light, headed towards highway 56. He made a traffic stop and reportedly observed the odor of marijuana from the vehicle. After investigation, 46-year-old Harrison Daniel Vance of 307 Dillon Drive, Clinton was arrested on charges of Possession of Crack, Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. A warrant states that on Saturday, the 18th, the defendant did have in his possession a cocaine base drug known as “Crack” that did field test positive for cocaine. This weighed approximately .02 grams. The violation allegedly occurred on Phillips Street. Vance was issued tickets at 9:22 Saturday night on charges of Simple Possession of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. $628 personal recognizance bonds were set on the Simple Possession and Paraphernalia charges. A surety bond was set at $5,000 on the Crack Cocaine Possession charge. Harrison Vance was placed in the Johnson Detention Center Sunday, and remained there this morning.
