Laurens Police Sgt. Joey Pittman responded to Lurey Street at 8:39 last night on a report of a disturbance. One of the residents of the address indicated he had been assaulted by another resident. Michael Feagin reported stated they were standing around a fire drinking and for no reason at all the other man struck him in the face with his fist. Sgt. Pittman reported noted some minor injuries on the victim’s face. After investigating the situation, Sgt. Pittman arrested 36-year-old Josh Ruben Kane of 205 Lurey Street, Laurens for a charge of Assault and Battery 3rd Degree. He was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center.
Meanwhile, officers determined that the purported victim had Bench Warrants from Municipal Court last week, so 41-year-old Michael T. Feagin of 205 Lurey Street was also taken into custody and placed in the Johnson Detention Center. He is served with two Laurens Municipal Court Bench Warrants citing convictions January 21st. A conviction on Public Disorderly charge carried a sentence of 30 days or $262 and a conviction on a Resisting Arrest charge had a sentence of 30 days or $1,000. Michael Thomas Feagin was being held in the county detention center.
