Clinton Public Safety Lt. Eric Robinson was dispatched to a fight in progress at Oak Street Park just before 5 yesterday afternoon. He talked with a 17-year-old male who said he was on the basketball court playing basketball with some friends when another 17-year-old male was walking down the street and yelled out he wanted to fight somebody. The 2nd male then reportedly walked out on the court and punched the 1st male in the jaw. The young man told the officer that when struck, he fell over the rail and the 2nd male got on top of him and started punching him. He said that he rolled the other guy over and started punching him back. The subject got up and left before the officer arrived. The young man said he did not want to prosecute the other fellow for the alleged assault.
