Two Charged with Burglary & Manufacturing Meth

   Two men were arrested on Burglary and Drug Manufacturing charges yesterday after Clinton Public Safety responded to a report of suspicious activity on Caldwell Street. Officers Doug Richardson and Christopher Harris arrived at a residence at 3:13 Sunday morning. Officer Richardson reported hearing banging noises coming from a shed in the back yard. The resident of the home indicated no one was supposed to be in the shed at that hour. Officers reported they went to the shed and located two men and items used in the manufacture of methamphetamine. Officers arrested 59-year-old James Olin Chitwood II of 59 McDonald Street, Whitmire and 22-year-old Timothy Blake Hill 218 Old Leopard Road, Clinton. Both were charged later yesterday with Burglary 3rd Degree and with Manufacturing Methamphetamine. Warrants served on both men yesterday state that on March 30th after midnight the defendant entered a storage building at 111 Caldwell Street without consent of the owner to do so with the intent to manufacture narcotics. Officer Doug Richardson further alleges that also on March 30th the defendants did commit the offense of manufacturing methamphetamine by having in his possession items that are all associated with manufacturing methamphetamine and that several of the items contained a white residue. Both men had $10,000 surety bonds set on each of the two charges. James Olin Chitwood of Whitmire and Timothy Blake of Clinton were transferred to the Johnson Detention Center, where they remained this morning under $20,000 Surety bonds.
