Laurens County 911 reportedly received a call from a man stating there was a disturbance with a female, then called a second time and said everything was alright. Deputy David Craig was dispatched to Whip-O-Will Drive, Clinton at 2:30 Sunday morning to confirm that the female was alright after the caller allegedly refused to put her on the phone. The officer arrived and spoke with a woman who said she was at the location with her boyfriend and two other men playing pool and that she wanted to go home. She said she was standing by the porch railing with a pool cue in her hand when the boyfriend grabbed her bay the neck and pushed her over the porch rail, causing her to fall four feet onto some children’s toys on the ground below. She indicated the boyfriend had run into the woods. Meanwhile, the two witnesses reportedly confirmed her story. She reportedly declined calling EMS. Meanwhile, Sgt. Nick Moye reportedly notified the deputy on the scene of a Bench Warrant for the victim’s address on a DUI charge. The 28-year-old Clinton woman was arrested and served with that warrant. She was being held in the Johnson Detention Center overnight. Deputy Craig obtained a warrant yesterday to charge the boyfriend with Criminal Domestic Violence, pending his arrest.
