Sheriff’s Corporal Christy Johnson was dispatched to Frontage Road near Joanna at 9:07 yesterday morning on a report of stolen metals. A man said that several piles of metal posts were taken from his vacant lot. Someone had used some kind of torch to cut the pipes in order to move them. In the process, they had apparently set the grass on fire. The theft is believed to have occurred between 8 and 8:30 Sunday night.
