Tools and equipment worth thousands of dollars were found stolen from a yard in Laurens yesterday. Laurens City Police were dispatched to David Street at 8:08 last evening and met a man who said he came home from being out-of-town on work for two weeks to find several tools missing. This included a red Hardy log splitter valued at $4,000. The owner said the tongue used in pulling the log splitter was stored inside his home, so it would have taken several people to move the splitter. A rear-drive tiller and a bag with misc. tools were also taken. Total value of the items stolen from the yard was $5,500.
