Three Simpsonville – Fountain Inn area residents who were reportedly held at gunpoint by a property owner after allegedly breaking into his garage have now been charged in connection with the Tuesday evening break-in. The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1128 Jones Road, Fountain Inn at 7:16 Tuesday evening and took three people into custody who were being held by a shotgun-wielding man.
Yesterday, they were served with warrants charging each with Burglary 2nd Degree. Still in the Johnson Detention Center this morning with cash or surety bonds set at $5,000 were 61-year-old John Charles Lee of 121 Williams Circle, Simpsonville, 45-year-old Anthony Ray Wharton of 114 Woodland Drive, Fountain Inn and 46-year-old Aldeaner Lee Wharton of 119 Williams Circle, Simpsonville. Ms. Aldeaner Lee Wharton also had a $620 bond set on her charge of Simple Possession of Marijuana.
In the warrants charging each with Burglary 2nd Degree, Sheriff’s Lt. Keith McIntosh states that subjects did enter a dwelling at 1128 Jones Road, Fountain Inn August 13th without consent and with intent to commit a crime therein.
