Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to a Laundromat in the 700 block of West Centennial Street at 10:10 yesterday morning where the owner reported a break-in had occurred, perhaps between 6 and 10 am. It appeared that a back door to the building had been broken open with a sledge-hammer, which was left lying nearby. The door was about half way torn down. The owner indicated that he did not detect anything stolen from the break-in. Officer Shane Harris noted that nothing in the back room seemed disturbed and that change had been left stacked neatly in some areas. A video of the scene reportedly revealed a subject wearing a black hoodie and with hands covered walking into the unlocked front door holding the sledge-hammer, then went to the back of the building and began hitting the back door. The sledge-hammer was taken into evidence, along with the video.
