Report cards for District 55 schools were reported to the District 55 School Board at their November board meeting last night. Superintendent Dr. Billy Strickland said the District-wide overall poverty rate of 82.83%.
Individual school poverty rates in District 55 ranged from a low of 78.93% at Hickory Tavern and 78.99% at Laurens District High School to 79.06% at Laurens Elementary. Other schools had poverty rates ranging from just over 80% to just under 88%; with the exception of Ford School which has the highest poverty rate in District 55, with 98.12%.
Waterloo Elementary School led the district in the grade reports, receiving an “Excellent” grade. School receiving grades of “good” were Hickory Tavern, Laurens Elementary and Laurens District High School. District 55 schools that received grades of “average” were E.B. Morse and Gray Court – Owings schools, as well as both Laurens and Sanders Middle Schools.
Ford Elementary School received a “below average” grade.
