A Clinton man came to Public Safety just before 11:00 yesterday morning and reported his boots were stolen. He said he was incarcerated around 9 pm Monday night at City Jail and at some point before he was released at 9:00 Tuesday morning someone took a pair of polo boots from his room on Jefferson Street. He gave the name of a woman of the same address whom he said took the boots. She was reportedly there at the residence during the time the boots went missing, along with his mother; and he said his mother would not have taken his boots, so he wanted to press charges on the other woman. The boots were valued at $80. Officer Duckett was attempting to locate the suspect female.
