Clinton Public Safety was dispatched to Beech Street at 10:14 yesterday morning on a report of a dispute with a subject having a gun. Officers determined the subject, a 17-year-old male, did not have a gun. He was reportedly upset over a dispute between his mother and her boyfriend. He said he was defending his mother. The teen said he was getting his cousin to come pick him up. Meanwhile Sgt. Anderson and Officer Duckett responded to another call while Officer Kuykendall stayed nearby. The subject reportedly came out to the front door and was reportedly yelling from the house that he would “X” up the mother’s boyfriend, apparently unaware of Officer Kuykendall nearby. The officer approached and advised him to keep his voice down and that his language was not appropriate in front of a 5 to 6-year-old girl sitting on the porch. He reportedly entered the roadway and continued with profane language with some six other people present. The 17-year-old was arrested on a Breach of Peace charge and placed in City Jail. He was then released on a $250 personal recognizance bond.
