A change to the make up of Clinton’s Design and Review Board was approved at this week’s Clinton City Council meeting. City Manager Frank Stovall told council that the ordinance creating the Design and Review Board was passed in 2005, calling for a five member board.  In 2010, however, city council amended the ordinance changing the number of board members from five to seven.  The amendment approved by City Council this week at Monday night’s meeting changes that back to the original number of five board members. Stovall said it has become difficult to find citizens who were qualified and willing to sit on the board and there has been some difficulty in achieving a quorum at meetings.  He said he believes a five-member board would be more effective in the carrying out its assigned tasks. The return to a 5-member Design and Review Board was approved unanimously Monday night.
