1st Degree Burglary of a Neighbor’s Home

Burglary and Theft charges were served on a Cross Hill man yesterday for an alleged break-in of a neighbor’s residence over the past couple weeks. 30-year-old William Kyle Guthrie of 428 Critter’s Haven Drive, Cross Hill was charged with 1st Degree Burglary, Grand Larceny and Burglary / Safecracking. Lt. Robert Plaxico states that between April 22nd and May 4th Guthrie broke into another dwelling on Critter’s Haven Road with intent to commit a crime therein, while he was armed with a deadly weapon.

At that location, he allegedly took away items valued at more than $2,000 belonging to the victim, and also entered the neighbor’s safe that was used for keeping valuables with intent to steal those valuables. William Kyle Guthrie was being held overnight in the Johnson Detention Center, pending a bond hearing.
