Laurens Officers were dispatched to 501 North Harper at 10:07 last night on a report of a male beating up a female. While Officer Woody was on the way a report indicated the subject had left on foot, headed toward Whitefords. Two women who witnessed the incident reported observing the man had the woman by the neck and was pulling her hair and that he was beating her in the face. They pulled into Napa to help her and the man fled behind a nearby car wash. Officers noted the victim appeared afraid and had visible injuries, both old and new. Charges were pending.
