A Deputy met with a man yesterday morning who reported a verbal exchange between himself and another student in a Piedmont Tech classroom the day before. He said after leaving school he stopped for a stop sign at US 221 north of Laurens and the other man pulled up beside him and pointed a pistol at him. Deputy Edwards and Campus Security spoke with the other man yesterday. He reportedly said he had been threatened by the other man and showed him his pistol so the other guy knew he had protection. Questioned about a permit to carry a concealed weapon, the subject said he did not have a permit. He reportedly said he was waiting on the “open carry” law to pass. Deputy Edwards had the man get the pistol from his vehicle’s glove box and took it into evidence. A judge was to be conferred with regarding charges in the matter.
