The Laurens County Safe Home assists victims of Domestic Violence, providing a safe place to live for victims and their children following a domestic altercation. On behalf of The Safe Home, Beta Sigma Phi is sponsoring a “Fashion Show” this weekend featuring clothing available from the Safe Home’s Thrift shop modeled by local volunteers.
We asked Emily Terrill of the Safe Home’s Thrift Store, “Our Little Shop,” about the Fashion Show to be held at Laurens First United Methodist Church Saturday evening.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun. Besides having models, we’re going to have door prizes, a silent auction and just a lot of fun. The tickets are $5 and we’ll have them at the door, or we’ll have them at “Our Little Shop.”
The “Our Little Shop” Safe Home Thrift Shop is in the Western Square off West Main in Laurens, near Bi-Lo.
We asked about how the money raised Saturday will be used. “All the benefits go to help the Laurens County Safe Home. They have numerous needs out there. One thing they need – our Director spoke at our church last Sunday – they need Baby Wipes. And they’re constantly needing diapers. We have a number – 864-682-7270. If anybody has anything they want to donate, or volunteer, they can call that number.
The Fashion Show and Silent Auction start at 6:30 Saturday evening at Laurens First United Methodist Church, Downtown on West Main, between Straight Street and 1st Baptist.
