Clinton Public Safety responded to a residence in the Lydia Mill area at 4:36 yesterday afternoon on a report of a fight between father and son. Lt. Anderson reported arriving to observe the father sitting on the bed, out of breath. He reportedly said he was punishing the son for his language and was turning off the TV. The 17-year-old reportedly resisted, shoving his father on the bed and placing him in a choke-hold. The fight reportedly escalated to pulling an open pocket knife, and also hitting the father on the back with part of a metal bed frame. He also allegedly pulled a compound bow with arrow off the wall and held it over his father, pulling the arrow back. A younger brother reportedly got between him and their father, and was allegedly pushed away.. When the father called for police the 17-year-old left. Officers were searching the area for the youth. Later, he was observed walking back home. He reportedly indicated the physical altercation began when his father was turning off the TV, and that there had been trouble between them for the prior two days.
The 17-year-old was arrested and jailed, and was being held overnight, pending booking with charges this morning.
