A Clinton man is facing a 1st Degree Burglary charge following an alleged break-in discovered Monday night. Sheriff’s Cpl Nick Moye was dispatched to 285 Fuller Road outside Clinton at 9:08 Monday night after a family returned home from a weekend in the mountains to find someone had broken into their home. Sheriff’s Lt. Higgenbotham joined in the investigation. A report noted someone had taken away food from the house, but had left valuables such as electronics, weapons and money in the house. Later, deputies arrested a relative of the victim, who was staying in a nearby house. 20-year-old Christopher James Holmes of 127 Fuller Road, Clinton was charged with Burglary 1st Degree and Larceny. Warrants alleged he broke into the victim’s residence in the nighttime with intent to commit a crime therein, and that he took away food and other consumable goods.
During arraignment yesterday, bond was denied on both charges. Christopher James Holmes remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
